Regarding the FDA's recent Salmonellla warning about contamination in fresh tomatoes, please be advised that Bertolli Pasta Sauces do not use raw tomatoes in any of our products. Rather we use tomato paste, purees, flakes or other forms of tomato ingredients, thus they are not the subject of the FDA's current advisory.
Our Bertolli Frozen Meals contain raw tomatoes that were harvested and frozen months before the reported outbreaks and are sourced from California, which is on the FDA list of states that have "not been associated with the outbreak." Furthermore, consumers are instructed per the directions to cook the product in a manner that will kill any salmonella in the unlikely event it is present.
